Intro To Time Management
Time Freedom Begins With Structure
I hope that you are able to see the incredible level of opportunity available here at WFG. There aren’t many opportunities that offer the same potential for compensation while maintaining a high level of freedom in your lifestyle.
In spite of all the money you make or how big or small your business is, you are entirely in control of your time and how you spend it. You are your own boss. Having that kind of freedom feels good. It’s nice to know that no matter what happens in your family or in any aspect of your life, you have the freedom to respond to it without pulling too many strings and working around a boss. However, that kind of freedom brings a great responsibility onto your shoulders.
Since we are in control of our time, we have all the power to build a business effectively or just become professional at avoiding work.
A lot of people come into WFG and are extremely excited about their potential future, but then leave disappointed, sometimes thinking that the business isn’t really that profitable. In reality, they never really got to work. They never really used the time available to them to “Zero Out” and do everything they can to make their dreams become reality.
If we expect our dreams to become reality, as big as they are, there is going to be a lot that will have to be put on the line. It has been said, “If you don’t sacrifice for what you want, what you want becomes the sacrifice.”
In order to make this happen, there are 4 big things that you need to make sure you are working at the point of productivity every day:
1- Add 2-3 New Names to your Top 25. That means you need to step out of the box a little and prospect! As you develop your skills at getting to know people and relate to them and become better at creating new relationships, your business will thrive and you can actually enrich your life with new friends.
Strive to meet 3-5 new people every day, and ask them the questions that direct them toward the business. When you are talking to someone as a prospect, do not try to set an appointment with them. Your goal is to develop a relationship and just keep in touch.
For example, you’ll probably ask, “Do you keep your professional options open?” When they say yes, rather than inviting them to the overview at that moment, you should take their name and number and call them 24-48 hours after the contact.
2- Set 3-4 appointments. That means that you have to make a few phone calls! You can oftentimes expect to make 3-5 phone calls for every appointment that you set. Often times people don’t answer their phones, which means you have to dial more numbers to be able to get an appointment. Always prioritize ZoomFinancial Workshop attendance as it is the most duplicatable as you scale, but if they are not able to attend the Financial Workshop feel free to meet with them in a Zoom appointment.
3- Keep your Legacy Goals on hand. This is extremely important. In this kind of business, it is very easy to get distracted and focus on things that may seem important, but don’t actually lead you toward your goals. Your Legacy Goals can keep you laser-focused on the things that you’re actually looking for. Read them when you wake up, and the last thing before you go to bed. This can change your life if you let it!
4- Be Accountable. Reporting your numbers is more for you than your trainer. We have a team GroupMe chat where you’ll probably notice a lot of people posting their successes. As you see the work and success that other people have, it can motivate you to work harder. The opposite is true as well. As the team sees your success and appreciates your work, it can honestly help you feel good about the work you do and give you a little extra fuel to keep going. Regardless of what you do, whether it be a great day with great numbers or a terrible day with no numbers at all, it is imperative that you report it.
It can be easy to leave home in the morning, and spend a full day in the office and not really accomplish anything. Using these four things can help you use your time productively. If you are not doing one of these things or you aren’t on an appointment, there is probably something better you can do with your time. Your work could technically be defined as “Either setting appointments or in the field on an appointment.” Strive to fill your time up with those two things as much as possible.
If you keep focused on that, read your Legacy Goals, and always report the results, you will have great results to be reporting. The opportunity at WFG is huge and it just keeps getting better. It takes work to make your dreams happen, but if you focus your work on the right things you’ll be able to accomplish your goals more quickly and more easily.
See if you can spend an hour making phone calls today and set as many appointments as you can. You will see that as you do that and actually go on these appointments some great things can happen in your business.
